Nintendo announced a little while ago that it would be bringing Resident Evil Zero, Resident Evil, and Resident Evil 4 to its current console. It was ported and later remastered in HD to a number of consoles afterward. It retains the same gameplay as the original, but has improved graphics, new mechanics, and more. Resident Evil was remade on the GameCube in 2002. The graphics are dated today however, which is where the remake comes in.

Although horror games existed before it, Resident Evil arguably revolutionized the genre. It all began on the PlayStation in 1996 with the release of Resident Evil.

One franchise stands above all others in popularity and longevity: Resident Evil. There are seven core titles (eight if we count Resident Evil Zero), and a number of spin-offs. Despite some gameplay footage leaking early, there's no telling what more homages Capcom made to previous titles, though when it comes to saving via typewriter, it's definitely less stress-inducing.There are a number of iconic video games in the horror genre, such as Silent Hill and Dead Space. In addition to the return of the typewriter, Village also brings back the classic Mercenaries mode that first appeared in Resident Evil 3: Nemesis. What's notable about Resident Evil Village is that it features the return of a variety of fan-favorite features from previous Resident Evil titles. More or less, knowing how to save in Resident Evil Village can save a lot of time, if not health and ammunition. However, even at the lowest difficulties, mistakes can be made that forces players to backtrack and consider a different strategy. For some players, they've already jumped in head first to guide Ethan in his search for Rosemary among the mysterious Village and surrounding areas. With the launch trailer dropping a day before its official release, the wait for Resident Evil Village is finally nearing its end.
